thanks russ i was waiting to see you pop on this lol now the brake wire is gonna go on the led side of the resistor correct and do you have an idea of what resistor should be used as far as ohm wise and where would the diode go in line with the brake wire??? and for the same with that what should i be looking for as far as the diode? or better yet russ give me a call if you can 518-653-6364 Bill.lol thanks bro.

ok since we are on the topic of LEDs. i jst recently got my LEDs put in. i got the 15" LEDs from AVS the ones with 11" of brake and 4" of reverse. my problem is the reverse part never shuts off even when the car is off. does anyone know what my problem could be?

just an update, I am still planning on trying this out for fun, but I have been down with the flu since wednesday...
And Ricky those look exactly like what I was decribing. Look like there is both a resistor and a diode in the heat shrink.
