i can see how a reverse 4 link could pull it out with enough lift

A reverse 4 link will pull the drive shaft back. I re-did a reverse 4 link on an s10 that had only about 8" of lift and when it was all the way up,it pulled the drive shaft completely out of the tranny. It was re run forward and had no more problems.
I built a ranger with a forward 4 link with the bags mounted on the bars that gets 21" of lift untill the brake line stops it. It will lift about 16" max lift when it gets shocks.

High lift is all about setup. This is one of CPT's many old setup. It had a trick long travel 2 link setup with a stock driveshaft. Threw a mean side. As long as all your angles are correct you can go pretty damn high. But flip side. It's gay as hell. You only need enough lift to get yourself out of driveways.

holy lots of lift batman
