There are simply two major problems with the "hack" shop philosophy. Those go hand in hand and unfortnately they make it difficult for potential customers to know who will do a good job and who won't.

1.)Most "shops" rented are a open facility that the person pays month to month and puts up a sign. In most cases they don't have a business license, they don't have the right equipment and their experience is limited to what they have done in the driveway. Most the time they know absolutely nothing how suspension works or how a chassis is suppose to be built except maybe what their father and uncle might have taught them.

The are all problems because now you have someone under qualified and lacking the proper tools to complete a job that you expect the world from. The "owner" of the shop usually is the only person who works there and he has his buddies to help him. NONE OF THESE GUYS are qualified to do the suspension and chassis fabrication required.

2.)People want everything for nothing. That is the only reason why people go to shops like these, they called a large shop with good quality work (insert name like Bio Kustoms, GO EZ Customes, Settin Trendz, Chassis by Aaron Iha, Silver Star, Devious, and the list goes on) and the price was too high and they didn't want to pay that. So they found another "shop" had some good "looking" stuff and they would do it quicker and cheaper........PROBLEM!

Like with everything, you get what you pay for, and since this shop will do it cheaper the customer takes it there and gets the truck hacked up.

yea, i see what you mean with "hack" shops, but the sad thing is, i paid a LARGE amount of money to get this done. the same amount i would have paid if i would have taken it to HellBent in NC.

I have never heard of any of the shops I listed having their stuff "repaired". Also, another thing that needs to be taking into perspective is alot of people share philosophies on how suspension should be done.

ex. Look at all the Bullock Body Works trucks that have been featured as of late. They all run triangulated reverse four links with the bags mounted on the bars. Other shops may say that is a horrible setup and needs to be "repaired" when the original owner of the truck may have been perfectly happy with the setup. It's a matter of opinion.

everyone gets crap talked about them if they have a shop. i know of plenty of the reputable shops getting trash talked alot of times by other reputatable BIG companies. what this guy had done was a hack job no matter what though

exactly.....matter of opinion. Don't get me wrong I am not bashing people who get work done elsewhere, if you do just know what you are getting.

John, (HATEandPAIN) is a perfect example, his truck was not done by a large company, but Zack does have the tools to do what John needed done plus he had the knowledge.
