just finished painting so now im tryin to get it all back together when the passenger solenoid doesnt want to work. the solenoid works when the door is open but when its closed it doesnt get any power. i ran a seperate wire just in case maybe the other one was shorted out and it still didnt work. maybe its grounding itself out idk. i might try switchin the solenoid.
well autolocs are shitty anyways, but i bet what is happening is when the door shuts there is no ground to the door, try grounding the door to the cab with a wire.
yep same thing happened to me. also try oiling the solenoid they might not be sliding smoothly and when the door is closed it might not pull hard enuf to pop the door
Run a separate ground into the cab. I had that problem also on a Pontiac, with the door open it worked, when closed it didnt. Worked every time with no problems after that.
im really sure you cant oil those solenoids unless you want to screw them up goahead and try i recemend asking autoloc first.
Your really sure? im sure you can seeing as i have been for about two years. I put a drop of 2in1 oil because they tend to want to rust up with moisture obtained during winter and rainy days. mines a daily driver aswell.Originally posted by wizard8575

never had problems with any autoloc stuff....sounds like an installation problem to me....I have been installing their stuff for years
never had any problems with mine. works perfect. Maybe its the installer
yeah its not autoloc..your door is not grounding when its shut..my taco did the same thing..run a ground into the cab...
definately not the solenoid it's essentially magnets...not much to screw up
