sup, im needin to build a frame jig for a new project that im building a complete tube chassis for, and i was wondering how everyone that has done this has made there frame jig, i was thinking about gettin a couple sections 3x3 tubing and getting it a few feet off the ground and make sure they were perfectly level with each other and start my chassis on top of that.., is this all i need to do, or would you reccomend using bigger material? any help would be greatly apreciated, thanks in advance!!!

you woould be best off to make a table that is completely leve front to back, side to side and corner to corner....

how would i go about making this table? the biggest i can get a sheet of steel plate is 4 feet by 8 feet, can i just add a couple sheets of steel across the 2 3x3 bars and then level everything out? would that work good enough?

like use some 3/16 or 1/4 inch plate and just reinforce em on the bottem with like some 1x1 where they might bow and stuff? would that work? as long as i kept everything absolutely level

well the few ive done i've built on a shop floor, i actually built a 6x12 wooden table to use as a frame table, out of 2x4s and 1" thick plywood, it had about 12 legs, so it was extremely level, but ended up just using it as a workbench, you dont need to use a "frame table". although i will be building a table from 2x3x1/8". if you are gonna be doin alot of mig welding on it, it would be a pain to cover it in plate because you will constantly be cleaning all the spatter off.
