i have got a rearend out of a ford explorer. the pumpkin is too far to the right hand side of my truck. i plan on narrowing it but my question is can it be narrowed more on one side than the other to make the pumpkin centered?

hey chuck if you have a hard time finding a shop, i use a shop here in columbus called parker chassis, theyve done a few rear ends for me, great work, they build hella expensive race cars. if you use em, tell em the guy with the dodge rear ends sent you. whats wrong with the stock rear end btw?
anyone know of a shop in NY that could narow my rearend in my dakota,
Thanks Keith
If that rearend is a 8.8" good luck finding anyone to makeing you new axles. The splining is a larger diameter than the axle itself. if you find someone LET ME KNOW

us dodge guys have the same deal, moser engineering. they can cut you new axles.
YEAH IT IS A FORD 8.8. SO ARE YOU TELLING ME IM WAITING MY TIME TRYING TO FIND SOMEBODY TO NARROW IT?
You will need to get new axles made from scratch. Shortening the tubes can be done like any other rear end, but you cant just cut and respline the axles like you can on most trucks. You have to get new ones made. So start by looking into that and see if its even worth it.
I had a 8.8 narrowed for my Ranger. They welded on 9 inch caps. Then had axles made by Moser. Not cheap but will handle the power. Good luck.
I narrowed my rearend myself, it runs true and came really well. So far I've done four rearends they all came out right including
2- 8.8 ford. I had MOSER make me new axles, they ran about $225.00 and it took about a week to get them from the day I orederd them.
