I looked at a 91 ranger today, and it was a sh*tbox kinda. So heres the deal. It had shaved door handles, but the key hole was still there. So i have the guy come out and start it, but i dont see poppers, just the factory key. i get confused. he puts the key in, turns it, and the door pops open, NOTHING electrical about it. Is this a kit you can buy, or some ghetto thinking and a tight budget?

no its not a kit ,the key is connected to the door latch so when it turns it pops the door. plus he probably had poppers installed. Its just an easy and cheap way to shave doors.

How would i go about doing this, i dont want to spend tons of cash on a kit, this may be do-able.........

my brother did that on his 90 ranger, he shaved the handles, left the keyholes, its alot more reliable and it was cheaper to do, i think he is gonna shave the keyholes soon tho...

Not ghetto at all, I know a lot of nice trucks like that. Some people just don't like not being able to open their doors.

Works great acctually. Not ghetto one bit. You have to take your lock cylinder and weld the back of it so when you turn your key it turns the arm . Hook that arm to your bent and cut door handle rod and wham you can shave your handles and use your key to open the door.. Only problem is if you shut your door with the keys inside. well yeah . your doors look automatically.

Friend of mine has his Ranger like that. Just the drivers side I guess until he gets a Autoloc kit or something.

did it on mine, just the passenger only. Driver is setup with poppers and remote entry. Not hard at all to connect to the lock-mechanism.
