Okay im runnin a 5/7 drop on my 96 blazer with 20's and 35 series rubber. the tires rub my inner fenders when i turn, if i took my front inner fenders out could it damage anything?
or should i say WOULD it damage anything?
your gonna have to relocate some stuff, fuse box, abs, etc... ditch the washer bottle and get a different overflow for the radiator, relocate the wiring that runs to you computer, and abs stuff, u should be fine..if ur runnin an open element filter on your intake get some sort of shield for it so rain water dont get to it and choke down you engine when u drive in the rain...thats all i can think of right now.
Personnaly I don't have on my truck, what I can think is you have some wire and some stuff to relocate...
The worst that can happen is probably that your engine bay wouldn't stay as clean as when you have your inner fenderwells.
Some may also say that engine cooling may be affected by taking off your inner fender wells...but I didn't notice anything on my truck.
Hope this helps.
Taking out the inner fenders is definitely not gonna make your truck overheat. That gives it an extra ton of fresh air coming in off the tires. If you want to keep it "show status" you're gonna need to clean your firewall just about every day if it's wet where you live. If you are really against that, you can cut a section out above your inner fenders and raise them up a couple of inches. this keeps the engine bay clean and no more rubbing.
well i think for me if i was gonna cut out a place to move them up i would just make some completely new ones. Any easier solutions?
The reason i want to find an "easy solution" is because this is only my daily and i dont want it in my shop to make new inners and take up space
its not that hard to relocate stuff bro...probably take u one afternoon and u will be good to go..good luck
Yeah, just cut the inner fenders out then. Zipties are your friend. Ziptie things to the fenders or the wiring harness if you hafta. Talk about an easy way to keep things away from the tires.
One of my tires has a groove in it from rubbing on a ziptie though... those suckers are tough
