ok here's the story. I sold my boy my 89 yota for a very VERY reasonable price. (less than half of kelly blue book). and he still hasnt paid me fully for it. he's paid 75%. i need the money/or the truck for a trade. i dont wanna be a dick but I need the truck or the cash.I still have the pink slip. so I'm callin the shots. i dont wanna f*ck my friend over but he pretty much already did me wrong.

well if you realllly wana be a dick since you still got the pinks .. just report it stolen.. then you'll have your truck back.. a pissed off jailed friend.. and some cash to bail him out.. if you want.. if theres no signed contract or bill of sale.. theres really no proof he ever really bought it in the first place..

first off...how long has it been since you sold it to him and he paid you?...if it's been like 6 months then definitely report it, but if he's been payin over a period of time, the hoolidays are here and he might be short on cash since most jobs don't pay holiday pay and there are a lot of days off work because of them...so see what the deal s and tell him straight up...money or jail!

I have done this once before. I waited till he went to work and towed the truck away. I left the guy a note on his door saying I had sold the truck to someone else and to call me to get his money back. It seemed to work really well. We are still friends. Make sure you leave a note so he doesn't report it stolen.

Talk to a lawyer. Reporting it stolen will get 'you' thrown in jail for filing a false police report. If you made arrangements for him to make payments you have extended him credit. At least in Tennessee this opens a can of worms. Where is the paperwork, how long did you give him to pay. Was there a drop dead date in that 'The total must be paid by?' Was there a bill of sale?

Trust me... friends are the first to fuck you and take advantage of your kindness. I had a best friend for over 10 years turn on me over a car club.. LOL Oh well..

In your case, if it has been some time since your deal.. just be straight up front with him. If you value your friendship, I do not think you should report your truck stolen. Just be honest and tell him to pay the remainder or you need it back.

Do you still have the keys? Give him a deadline. Say, 1 week. If he doesn't pay the balance due, you sell it to someone else and he only gets HALF his money back. This way he will Get something back, but still pay a penalty for screwing you. AND if you sell it for what it's worth, you get your money back, and then some. The reason I ask if you had the keys is because taking the truck will be so much easier. He can't report you for stealing your own truck. Just my
