truck shut off

today while driving on the freeway truck shut off and it sounded like it was backfireing studdering. chocking it self look back and i seem some sparks outta the exhust wtf??? 93 c/k 1500 4.6 v6 u think it might be fuel pump or timing chain ...any help

not sure about the sparks, but the other symptoms sounds like the gas ain't getting to the engine, could be a lot of things

catilitic converter maybe

i had one of those go on my fullsize. the way it acted on mine is my truck would rev really high, still ran, but not very fast safely

i think ur timing jumped,or ur ct. converter blew out
