c-10 question

just a quick question what did people do for bd's before z'ing the frame became the norm just cut the floor traditional style?

i would imagine, raise the front crossmember.

yeah you have to either raise the front crossmember into the frame or Z the frame for the frame to lay flat. Then drop the body.

Zing has been around for ever.. and sectioning or rasing the crossmember have been around for a long time aswell.. and well a Body Drop has been around forever to.. its called channeling to the old timers and they did it to there rods waaayyyy back in the day.. nothing realy new, just changes hands for each generation to put there stamp and style to it..

yes i know that z'ing the frame has been around for a long time i was wonderin if everybody has always z'd there c-10's or just cut the floor seems to me z'ing the frame only became really popular in minitruckin a few years back and people have been body dropin the c-10 for a long time. just a question

minitruckers like the frame to be even with the body so we can drag the frame with the body. Hot rodders probably wouldn't care as much if the body was below the frame besides for the front crossmember because most of them think it's dumb to drag. Also Z'ing the frame or raising the front crossmember makes more room for those 20's or 22's we all dream of. Hope this helps answer your questions.
