guys the quality and experience with this is no thing for sean. he knows what he is doing when it comes to this. i always thought this was a good idea for the inexperienced builder. quality does come with a price too. you get what you pay for.
How could something cost $1800 to ship. I'd fly back in a plane, rent a U haul and and drive across the country if it were that much, which I don't think it would be. I send stuff freight all the time. Think of the time and thought saved with one of these frames. Plus it might stop some hack jobs from taking maters into their own hands, they could just buy a frame. I still like the idea.
Well here you go. R&l carriers for a frame and the 3 boxes that might be shipped also with the frame. Is 875.00 from here to sacramento calif.

KRZ was doing this and they were so busy they didnt have time to take a shit. $6000 grand for a stockfloor chassis is fucking cheap people.
Go to a shop and talk to them about a stock floor. it will be near double.
The only concern I have is turnaround time. Frames take some time to build, then you get 5-6 orders than you are playing catch up...and we all knows what that means.
agree...we do the samething...but it all depends on the people some people just dont want to pay for it...we ship out frames but the guys with mini usually wont pay the money...its a win lose deal...try it out...but always have a back up plan lol...we charger $6k for a 3/4 stockfloor mandreal bent frame includes body mounts front and rear suspension....if you come to the shop and you want this done you usually get out there at $15k so it cheap just depends if you can do it yourself.
a few things...
whoever says six thousand is to much for a cpmlete chassi minus rear end, has no concept of custom work or labor rates.
i think this is a great idea IF you can make it work, catering to all minis and fullsizes is a lot fo work and you better have in house production team of like 20 guys. 2 guys a chassis and 10 a day. i wouldnt expect it at first but if thats what you want then you should expect not to lose productivity because of good business, this way people dont wait 5 years to get it like byc, kustm wekrs, etc etc.
again, 6k is a steal and i would be surprised if you guys are making much, because in order to complete a chassis like your talking about. 6k is pushing it. i was thinking more around 10 k comlete roller, but more power to you if you can make enough to keep the lights on at that price.
the only way you are makin money is if you are using shit parts, thin material, plastic bushing instead of urethane, 3/8 heims instead of 1 inch, etc etc etc. chassis tech spindle, etc etc etc, goes on and on
good luck.
fuck. cost of metal and time to fab arms alone you are looking at 1500 to 2000 grand. metal isn't cheap.
To ship a whole truck Florida to west coast was 1500$
HotRodders have been doing it for years, selling frames, there has to be a way to make it work.. oh yea. hot rodders dont even wink when you tell them 60k to build their ride before paint....
Guys Thanks for the great insight. We have taking alot of what has been said here and we are appliying it as I type. I for one would like to say after we build a chassis we dont make much but we do keep the lights on and my guys paid. Thats the great thing. We also have taken it into effect too that production rate wont be there at first but later might be a factor. I price these at a firm 6000.00 to some that might be much but to others that isnt alot. We have also started breaking them into stages also. Stage 1-4. For the budget minded.
The reason behind this whole idea is that we see A WHOLE LOT OF work that is unsafe in our eyes. We figure that we can produce a safe and effective chassis with QUALITY PARTS that have been well engineered and produced. We only use quality materials and products. We cannot say that we wont in the future have to increase the price but right now we are looking to keep our chassis price stage 4 at around 6 grand..
Thank you all again and keep the insight coming...

i picked the chassis up from the yellow frieght warehouse. 19' chassis, 700lbs from fresno cali to cherry hill nj equaled $1800. and bhc wasn't making anything on shipping, that was straight from yellow freight.
& btw, the uhaul fee + mileage fee + gas + time off from work was more than $1800, we weighed out that option.

sean, what class shipping was that? according to all the people we talked to, no matter what they quote you on the phone, it can change once it reaches the dock & can be reclassed to a higher freight.
i'm not trying to cockblock you at all. i know from personal experience, shipping a frame was nightmare.
Yeah I agree 6K is dirty cheap for a full frame that won't take that much work on your end. But are the frames going to be built on the floor?
i work for Southeastern Freight Lines, and i know quite a bit about shipping frieght. Sean, you could easily set up an account with a trucking company, that will come by and pick up the frames and ship out, and it wont cost near 1800. i move stuff all night long 5 times the size of a truck frame. and also, yes, the cost of shipping can change once it hits the dock. thats basically what my job is, to check the weight of freight, and take measurements of it. if it meets a commodity change, then the original shipping price changes also. but you can easily avoid all that by knowing the exact weight and measurements before its sent out.
