I asked the welding teacher at the JC about it, and all they use is Miller, and he had no idea. And hes the one that fixes their welders. He said hes never heard of the problem before, and that he would try top get someone to send me a replacement welder. I just can't afford to be withotu a welder for the next 6-8 weeks. I have so much shit to do.
damnit man I really think you got a bad welder or something
Its possible. It could be a number of things not working properly all together causing the problem. Like I said, shit luck. Lol. I just can't catch a break.
all bs aside.waht type of regulator do you have a guage type or a flow meter? if you have a flow meter you could see how the gas is flowing.i t kinda sounds to me like you have a kink in the whip somewhere. with a flow meter the ball should drop a couple bars from the setting it is on before triggering. just my thoughts good luck with that

Its a Victor regulator. Not the cheap one that came with the welder. I don;t have a flow meter, but I can see the guage drop about 1-2 PSI when I pull the trigger. But ti still lets gas out of the tip of the gun, enough to blow grinding dust around off table.
sounds like you need a new whip. or change the liner in your whip. try changing all your consumables (difuser, tip and nozzle).

What is the whip?
I've changed the liner out recently, and change out the contact tips consistantly. Only thing I haven't changed is the nozzle.
the whip is the line that your wire and gas flows through. to the trigger. make sure the whip is secured flush with the rollers. if there is a gap than the gas will not flow true. I also run my gas at 30-35psi

Okay. I'm not all that familiar with proper terminology. I've always heard that called the stinger.
I've checked time and time again that this is seated correctly, and that the O-rings are fine (replaced them) and that its properly clamped down. The guy at Miller had my pull some stuff apart to check for proper connections of the gas line in different locations of the whip.
