I just rolled out a brand-new feature on Street Source — User Follow. With this update, you can follow other members to stay in the loop with their builds, posts, and activity across the platform. It’s a lightweight way to stay connected — kind of like Twitter or Instagram, but made for custom cars and trucks.

Why I Chose Follows Over Friends
Street Source used to have a “friends” feature — and while that worked, it added unnecessary complexity. I wanted something simpler and more modern.
With follows, the connection is one-way. You don’t need approval. If you like someone’s build or want to see more of what they post, just hit follow. That’s it. No awkward requests. No waiting.

Simpler Social, Built for Enthusiasts
Right now, following someone adds them to your following list, which you can view on your profile — and others can see it too. It’s a simple way to discover other builders, clubs, and projects across the site.
In the future, I plan to introduce a personalized feed that shows activity from the users you follow. This is just the foundation.
Friends? Don’t Worry — I Migrated Them
If you’ve been on the site a long time, you might remember the “friends” feature. To keep things smooth, I’ve already converted those relationships into followers. So if you had friends before, they’ll now show up in your followers/following list.
No action needed — everything’s been preserved.

What’s Next?
This feature lays the groundwork for more updates. Here’s what I’m thinking about adding soon:
A feed with updates from people you follow
Suggestions for who to follow
Possibly notifications when someone you follow posts something new
More ways to browse and discover new users
If there’s something you’d like to see — let me know. I’m always open to ideas.
Try It Out
Check it out! Follow a few users and see where it takes you. If you're working on a ride or sharing a throwback from the past — post it. It’s a great way to grow your audience and connect with others who share your passion.
Thanks again for being part of the ride!
