Street Source Just Got Faster: Instant Emails Are Here

One of the most frustrating things about the Street Source platform was waiting. Whether you were resetting your password or expecting a message, emails could take several minutes to show up. That lag is finally a thing of the past.

We’ve rolled out a new event-driven email system — which means emails are sent the moment an action happens. No more waiting for a scheduled job to run.

Forgot your password? The reset email shows up instantly.
Received a new message? You’ll get notified right away.
Got a comment or follow? Boom — it’s in your inbox.

Behind the scenes, this marks a big shift in how Street Source handles notifications. In the past, like many large platforms, we used a background queue system to handle email. When a user took an action, their emails were dropped into a queue to be processed later — a common legacy approach that kept the platform feeling snappy by offloading email processing to the background.

That system worked, but it came with a downside: delays. A five-minute wait may not sound bad, but in 2025, it feels outdated.

With our new event-driven setup, emails are triggered and sent immediately. It’s faster, more reliable, and a better overall experience.

Quick tip: To make sure you don’t miss any notifications, add postmaster@streetsource.email to your contacts or safe sender list. If you're not seeing emails, check your spam or junk folder just in case.

This is just one of many changes aimed at modernizing Street Source — and we’re only getting started.
