I was gunna say, I figured it must just be stuck.

Ok let me see if i understand this correctly, there is a pin in the center of all the leaf spring, i C-clamp it and remove the pin, release C-clamp and remove all springs and place overload on top of main leaf, begin to C-clamp the overload and main spring together and use a large rod object to align, then once fully compressed i bolt them together, and place the new blocks over my bolt?

Overload goes UNDER the main leaf. Some do put it on top, but that is a minority group because you lose the support of the overload. It helps keep the main leaf from flexing too much under the load of the truck, put it on top and it doesn't help with strength at all.

Ok I will leave it on the bottom, but did everything else I say correct?

Yeah, I didn't ever have much difficulty aligning the holes/pin, but a screw driver may help there if needed. It's really quite an easy job.

Okay so I'm bringing this one back because I'm planning on doing the mono leaf and I have a question. What else can I do to keep from Injuring myself when releasing the leaves that doesn't require the use of a c clamp? Could I take the whole leaf spring assy out and then remove the extra leaves? I don't wanna get hurt but I have no money and I'm bored and feeling guilty for not doing anything ton the truck and this seems to be relatively free. (I already have newer bolts from the block install the po did) anyways any help would be great.. Thanks in advance guys

I just pulled my middle two leaves because it's the only free thing I could do to see a big impact right now and I need to see forward progress or I get demotivated. Anyways, what I did was get the truck lifted up about a foot on jack stands, I took a jack (regular crank style) and put it under the leaf (just outside of the u bolt mounting plate so it wouldn't get in the way) until I saw i lift up on the leaves. Then I removed the u bolts and lowered the crank jack and it's slow enough it won't pop on you. The first time I did it without and it popped, but it wasn't violent like everyone made it seem, but definitely not safe. Hope that made sense.

Has anyone had any big issues post monoleaf? (pinyoin angle issues, leaf spring breaks/cracks, stuff like that...) I just monoleaf'd and I am now wondering if there's anything to look out for. And a side note if you decide to monoleaf u might wanna see about moving ur brake lines down a lil bit. Mine were almost an inch higher than my axle.

I lower almost every Mazda truck I build to sell. I take out all the leaves and put the overload on the bottom of the main leaf. I use 3" angled drop blocks. I also cut the rubber snubber in half and reinstall them. As far as the alignment pins, I chuck them up in my vice, use a thread cutting die to increase the amount of usable threads and put them back in.

Also remember to trim off the extra U-bolt threads so they aren't hanging down, getting caught on manhole covers, etc. Also be sure to retighten your U-bolt nuts after 500 miles of driving after everything has settled out.

Is there a specific order of tightening the u bolts and to what torque specs do u tighten them? I didn't have a torque wrench on hand at the time but I have access to one I just tightened them till they were pretty tight not as tight as I could go (in didn't wanna break em I've had issues with breaking bolts/nuts...) thanks for the Input orangemazda
