on my turck bodydropped, whats the minimum backspacing I could go with in an 18x7.5. I have found em with 40-45, but curious whats the least I need. This is with stock axles, but drilled to 5 lug.

I had 17x7.5 with +39 and they worked great. Escalades are 17x7.5 and +37 and get kind of close with drop spindles, but still tuck.

In the back with no camber though, my 7.5 with +39 were as much as I could get, they cleared the fender lips but any less offset would have hit the bedside with the tire. My escalades proved this, I had to pull the fenders out ever so slightly to clear them.

so an 18x7.5 with 40 or more would clear right?

Russ has a way of explaining things and still making them confusing....

yes, +40 will clear.

haha sorry man, just qualifying my answer. The lower the number of positive offset, the less backspace you have.

So if +37 barely fit with pulled fenders, +35 wouldnt. If +39 cleared, +40 absolutely would. The rear fender edge isnt the rub point on a bodydropped truck, the bedside is, where the bodyline crease is.

You asked "whats the least I need?"

as far as the 20 is concerned, the taller the wheel dimension the more backspacing you will need because (as russ said) of the rub point. the higher up on the bed the more it tapers.by the way i gave some suggestions on the other thread.russ can convert this into millimeters.(sorry russ i know i asked you in the past and you gave it to me but i forgot).at least 7" backspacing on an 8.5 for dragable purposes.whats that in offset russ.

yeah, i saw the other info, and thats greatly appreciated man! so even with the toyo swap it should still all be the same then for the most part...i just dont know if i should build it for 20s or 18s...my friend has a set of 20s for sale, in a pretty high offset too, but i'll find out exactly and run it by you all to see if they are worth gettin b/c he only wants 500 for them and they have never been mounted.

sorry i can't help you with the track width for the toyswap as i don't have any experiance with that.

tell you what while your measuring everything measure the front spacing for me.
that is measured from the mouting surface of the hub to the outer part of the rim.
just run a straight edge across the rim and
measure from the hub to the straight edge.

2" or less would be ideal(but i doubt very much that's what it will be.and of course measure the backspacing.e-mail me with what ya got at maddawg383@sbcglobal.net
