Hey guys. I have much love for the Isuzu forum on SSM, but thought I might get some more help if I posted it in a more general of a forum. I have a 93 isuzu (I think the generation is 88-94/5) and I wanna throw in a 350SBC. Besides custom motor mounts, can someone please give me some input on this swap? I will be using a 350SBC and TH-350 transmission. The truck was originally a 5 speed so i'll put the shifter on the floor but make it automatic.

Do all I have to do is run the positive to the ignition and start and drive? E.G. Can I just use the factory computer/eletrical setup for my lights and everything now and just remove the motor?

Can I use my stock rear end? I don't plan to hot rod the truck, just drive it and take it to some hot rod/mini-truckin shows to show it off for fun. I know ill have to lengthen or shorten the driveshaft.

Will their be any weight issues? All that extra weight towards the front end, will I need to add some weight to the back of the truck?

I appreciate the input. I hear people relate Isuzu pup's to s10's which is again why I thought i'd post it in the main forum.

I tried to give you all the information so that I don't get flamed for not supplying enough information and acting like I want to do something that I'll never actually do. I just want to get some specs before I go for it. I have a motor waiting. Found an older guy selling a 350SBC with Transmission that he'll guarantee for like 90 days for $400 and since the 2.3L in the truck now is really knocking hard and will blow soon.

Thanks for any input!

www.hotrodwires.com I bought my wiring harness from him at a swap meet. Bill is a great guy, he's an older retired man that makes these harnesses for summit and jegs and they put their name on them and double the price. He can even make you a harness for a fuel injected small block if you want to mess with CPU's. Just give him a call and tell him what you are doing and he will set you up the right harness. All you need to make it simple though is a HEI style distributor and a one wire GM alternator, and just get the 12 circuit kit from him.
Any more questions let me know.

Thanks for the reply. Can you answe rany of the other questions I had? I called my guy up and was able to reach him today and he still has the motor with transmission as an all in one and said he'd take the $400 for them both and that it had no leaking and oil burning issues at all.

I will be seeing what I can throw together to get the $400 needed for the swap and then I'll make a new thread and let you guys know if its gonna happen.

Also, If I just want to run the stock headers, will their be clearance issues?
