Just wondering when painting a motor block if the exhaust manifold ports should be covered? So that the gaskets are metal to metal? O can the metal gasket seat to the paint ?

When LC built my engine they told be to use good heat paint, not powder coat. They said powder coating holds to much heat in the block!

exactly, we used por15 black to do the suspension and some motor parts and painted the block and tranny with the chevy orange. por15 is the best quality i have seen for engines and suspensions. when spraying you dont have to thin it at all and always make sure you dont get any on your skin cause it takes time to wear off.
