hey guys, just wondering if theres a site where i can learn how to do a stock floor body drop, or any one got some type of blue prints to them, thanks in advance, sam!!
build a new frame from your firewall back!
^^^exaclty no print for them every truck is diffrent pretty much
i agree everytruck will be different but there are certain guidlines you can follow.but basically you'll need to build a new frame or reinforce your old rails and chop them down. Either way be prepared cause its a lot of work.
what size tubing does anyone recommend to stock floor a 2000 chevy s10, wanting to build from atleast the firewall back. Thanks for the posts in advance!
2x3 3/16 wall, some say 1/4 wall but even 3/16 is overkill, no need to add all the weight.
i did a tech that came out 2 issues ago in sport truck on a stock floor body drop on a full size but the principles are the same. channeling the cab is far more faster the building new frame and you keep the structual integrity of the stock frame
That exact article is what I've been studying in preparation to do the BD on my 720. Just kinda wonder how much channel I'm gonna have with this thing if I go ahead and build all new crossmembers. If you ever sit in a SFBD truck, you'll never wanna go back. TRUST ME. My Mazda changed me for good.
Yup more work better pay off in the end more head room. Then you can always chop the top or go to the doors with a convention on top of the SFBD. whooooyeah!
o yeah ifcustom.com always has plenty of pics to illustrate what there doing.
