shaving back of blazer

i have a 98 blazer and i was wondering how people shave out the tailgate. grant doesnt make a skin, ive already made the step shavers and bought the rollpan, but i dont know what to do with the gate, because it has that goofy piece that sticks out. any help will be much appreciated.
