ok first off i know absolutely nothing about honda drivetrains or anything like that. I simply started this thread because my buddy wanted me to. He has a 2001 honda civic and the 5-speed transmission is going out of it. He wanted me to ask you guys if you knew of any 6-speed transmissions that you could buy for this car. I have never heard of one for a civic but like i said i know nothing about them. If nobody knows of any 6-speeds could you point me in the right direction to i guess a stock or aftermarket 5-speed so i can relay the message to him. Thanks in advance

there are no "aftermarket" transmissions..he could check into a RSX type S tranny being thats a 6 speed but i dont think that will bolt up to the civic motor

There is not one for his year that I know of out there. The RSX TypeS has a 6speed but im pretty sure that shit will not work with his motor. Just tell him to have it rebuilt with quaility parts.
