sti is a high performance wrx, so comparing them isn't really fair. The wrx is cheaper and prolly be fine and a lil better on gas. Remember your gonna be running super unleaded in all of the above, so your gonna be spending $$ at the pump. Evo has better handling but is a lil slower but you can easily upgrade the suspension on a sti, to make handle better.

4g63 pwns the ej25Only dsm i'd recommend. It'll outgun the sti in pretty much every area if you learn enough about it to know what you're doing

the wrx costs about the same as an evo...and the sti's are a lot more expensive...more than anything i want something that will be good at the track, and good in the snow..

wrx same price as evo?? maybe a used one. you can get a wrx for about $24K, an evo for about $28, and an STI around $30K+. I'd rather have the STI myself, previously having a turbo DSM. My friend has a WRX and the only thing I can say bad about them is the tranny. I've heard several people saying that it goes out fairly quick even on new ones. The dealership replaced my friend's and it had 50K miles on it. Oh well, still rather have the STI over the EVO. No question the STI over the WRX.

you are going to be spending some cash at the pump with any of these choices, so forget about that. but if you are looking for something your wife will like to drive around town, she'd probably like the wrx better. the sti and evo are set up for the track and might now be comfortable to someone not in the import scene.
