depending on where you are from it differs, here in philly thats a no, but there is always a way around the system, like who ya know

id think in any state that requires a safty inspection....that it is deemed unsafe as in not d.o.t. approved.... not to say that the work is shotty or hacked but not how the d.o.t. has intended

good luck

im sure it would be easier to certify a truck with bags rather than pumps seeing as bags(firestones)are dot approved the lines are dot approved and as far as four links and such i mean as long as the installation is safe and ur running shocks with ur set up theres really nothing to say against that!i was most curious about bd's but again if the work is done clean and proper then its just considered sheet metal work i would inagine!although i am from ontario, canada and things definitly work in strange ways aroudn here!got anymore info lemme know!!!

yeah well i agree on if the workmanship is there and the bags being d.o.t. but they were not factory issue, also there is a thing called scrub line which is imaginary lines under the vehicle from the top of one tire to the bottom of the other tire... where they intersect is the scrub line...nothing is to be below this line, im going off of what pa inspection goes by, but you'd have to check your state's requirments....alot of it is vehicle code and in pa we are not aloud (as inspectors) to fail a vehicle bassed on vehicle code, we have to refer to the section in the book that falls under "reject if" so ill check tomorrow to see if i could actually fail a vehicle for having such mods, but i do know for a fact that nothing is to hit the wheel/tires on any part of the frame or body and missing shocks will deff. fail

where are you from???

I was wondering the same thing, I'm also in Ontario
theres a guy down the street from me that has an 88-98 FS Chevy and it has been with temp plates for almost a year now. I don't know if thats from having air and he can't get it safetied or not though

when i lived in NH, the people at the inspection station thought that my hydro cylinders were shocks.

The front cylinders mount in the same location as a shock, and the rear are mounted the same way a shock might be mounted.

i rolled in a stock height, didnt fuck with the switches in front of them, and the pumps were in the bed under the tonnue cover. I got an inspection sticker no problem
