Battery Light?

In my gauge cluster on my 86 s10, the battery light is on and wont go away, and now my alternator seems to not be charging my battery? could it be a bad alternator or sumthin else that im overlooking? thanx

If you can drive your truck take it to autozone or advance auto which ever you have and they will test it for free..

generally if your battery light is on it means that the alternator is not working

You can do a simple test yourself, start the truck and then remove the positive wire from your battery if the truck dies its your alternator.

the indicator light signals a voltage drop, could just need to have the battery or alternator terminals cleaned up, but sounds like either the battery or alternator is going poop on you. alternators don't usually just gradually go out. they are pretty abrupt and generally just go dead all of a sudden.
