digital camera recommendations

I want to buy a nice camera but i have no idea what to look for. What camera do you have? Can you guys help me out?

How nice of a camera are you lookin' for? Digitals can get really expensive, but you don't have to spend a fortune to get a nice one. I have a 4.1 pixel Kodak Easyshare that I've had for over a year and I'm very very pleased with it, plus the price of the very same camera has gone down about $100 in the past year.

I just purchased a Canon Rebel XT a month or two ago and I am really impressed. I had an Olympus C-5050 and it did take some good pics but doesn't even compare to the Canon (especially since the Canon is an SLR anyway). If you're willing to put some decent money into one I highly recommend the Canon but that's just my opinion.

i have a sony cyber-shot 3.2 mega pixels it is excellent. and as 99hondagirl said the prices are a lot lower now.

I have an older model Canon, an A70. It is a pretty decent camera for a first camera. If I was going to do it again, I'd probably go with something with a stronger zoom, like 10x.

My Kodak has a 10X zoom and it's pretty awesome.
