I have been checking out alot of people profiles lately and been to all the recent shows. alot of people are doing the traditional bodydrops on there rides. whats with all that? im not knocking it just was wondering if its easier, less work, cheaper (ofcourse) or what. whats everyones prefernce? seen alot of badass rides with the traditional bodydrop so im not talking shit just a question. we are stockfloor my other yota right now and was just looking for input on crossmembers, body mounts, few little questions......

to some people the extra 3 inches or what have you of head room isnt a big deal so the easier trad way is the best route for them...my tacoma is b/d 3inches and im fine for room..and i have heat and a/c and all that..on the other hand my yota is 4.5 cut floor and chopped...shoulda decided on the chop before the b.d i guess...now im building a stockfloor frame

the diff is the headroom.. and not everyone wants to go cut thier frame in half.. old school new school.. some trucks are easier to stock floor.. traditional is cool.. but i like stock floor cuz im like 6'5"

well i guess maybe because the traditional has been around longer and theres just more know how with that idea vs. stockfloor... but thats what im guessing ya trevor i decided to chop my top so im doing stockfloor plus im going to the door and i don't quite like the steering wheel in my crotch! just my two But yeah i believe also if head room isnt much of a question then conventional wouldnt be a bad option.

Guys who have never sat in a sfbd truck should at least once.
I have had both. Done both. My skill has improved doing both, so I cant tell you which one is easier. The way I did my sfbd was not as hard as my first traditional. But if you dont have that curve, the traditional at least still LOOKS like a truck while you are doing it.
Sit in a sfbd truck. To hell with headroom, there is nothing and I mean MOTHING that compares to sitting on the GROUND. On a traditional bd, the seat height, if you dont lower the mounts, does not change. So if you did it 2.5 inches, and pulled up next to a frame laying truck of the same type, your roof would be lower but he'd still be eye to eye.
With a sfbd however, holy crap. With the rocker on the ground you just feel like you are sitting on the asphalt.

why pick... just do both! i got a 3 3/4 stockfloor and 2 1/4 traditional to get laid to the doors ... most people do traditional because its alot easier... and most people dont feel comfortable cutting there frame in half and build a new 1 and pray that its still stright.. and in a fullsize it doesnt really matter but for any tall guys a stock floord mini is deffinatly the way to go

i mean a traditional is cool and all and im a 5 foot 5 little homie so have no problems cutting the floor out. just think its a better investment to go into a sfbd then the traditional. jsut wanted to see what others thought. i know its old school but still around...........
