The Olympus Evolt 300 has, by the reviews and comments I read recently, problems with its metering. It can over or under expose quite often. Now I had the Olympus C-5050 before and it didn't seem to have that problem. I did a lot of research before purchasing my new camera and it came down to the Evolt and the Rebel XT. I went with the Rebel XT and it is very impressive. I got the whole package off of ebay with 2 lenses, new case, new tripod (still like my old one better), and a 4-gig card for $1400.

I shoot with a Cannon Digital Rebel. I used to shoot with a Cannon Powershot A60. I love the Rebel, its really a great camera and a great bang for the buck.
Here are a couple shots I took with the Rebel....I have to say though that I am still learning how to use the Rebel. It is a very different camera from anything else I have ever shot with. I have only one thing that I dont like about it, in the sun if your shooting something that is chrome it has a faint rainbow around it, but you can usually avoid that. I usually dont see it until I proof the pictures. But otherwise I love it and I def recommend that you check it out. If your heading out to the show let me know and you can take some shots with it.

I'm getting a new camera within a week or so. I will most likely be going with the rebel. I found it online fore alot less than I have fouund it in any stores. I will start buying all of the accessories piece by piece soon after I get the camera. I'll post up some pics after I have made my purchase.

Its not the camera thats takes a good photograph, its the photographer. So if i were you i would look at, what are you planning on doing with most of your pictures, If you are just takeing snap shots then four or five hundred bucks will get you a decent snap shot camera. but if you are looking to reproduce your images and want to get some really high quality images than i sugjest a digital SLR camera, But plan on spending at least $1500, That will get you a decent camera body and mabey a lens or two. And if you think that is a lot, trust me thats nothing when your talking about camera stuff, I just got a canon 1ds Mark2, the body alone was $8000. lenses where $1500 each.

I got my Kodak DX6490 at wal-mart for around $500 with a memory card. I've used it for all my show coverage since last years Sema. My Sema shots turned out great but I saved the images at lower quality to get them on my site. Now I save close to max quality and everything looks good! Here's a few sample shots.
