A/C Compressor conversion ?

I was wondering if you can do a conversion for you air system, with an s-10 compressor. I know it oils by the freon. But would it work to put a oiler on it? and if some one has done this how quick is it, is it equivelent to a regular york compressor?

I tried this 2 summers ago, and I set the up the compressor to an oiler, pressure switch, and check valve, it was a stock AC pump and it pumped, but it would not build any pressure, I got air from the line, but it was about 1psi at no cfm, it didnt do shit, and no matter what we tried it wouldnt build pressure, so I took it out. I would be interested to read a step by step.
