shaving airbag hole in dash

how would you guys suggest shaving a passenger airbag hole. the dash is hard plastic w/ a foam glued to it. i've been told the the fiberglass will melt the foam & wont look right, if i just glass a "filler panel" where the airbag was you'll still see it. what would be my best bet to get rid of hole w/o fiberglassing entire dash & bodyworking it? the final look will be the dash wrapped in bone vinyl.keep in mind 2 different people have already screwed this up, i need ideas so i can do this right.
