do water traps go bad?

im talking about in my garage here. not for bags....i just got a new 60 gallon air compressor thats at most 2 months old now. It was a replacement so i allready had a water trap on my old compresor. well lately ive been noticing water coming out of my air tools when using them. Today it was leaving drops of water in my garage floor. so i shut it down till i found out the reason why. my truck is 80% bare metal right now and i dont need water drippin on it! I drain my compressor daily and i drain the water trap daily too. I just dont think the water trap is working right because there is far too much water in the airline after the trap. So is it possible my trap is bad?
