Independant rear alignment problem

I have a 96 extended cab s-10 with a 87 mazda rx7 rear end in it. and all the suspension is on a sub frame, butt for some reason the tires tow in prety bad. I have talked with another guy who has the same problem. I was wondering if that vertical bar that keeps the subfraim from twisting, Located next to the differentialon on the driver side, is what corrects the alignment. I have herd something about it but the guy never got back with me. and If you had an alignment problem how did you correct it?
