Kind of a bitch thread but thought it needed to be brought up since no one else has mentioned it. I look all around at vehicles on SSM and at the profiles listed (body mods, interior, suspension, pics etc), recently I have started voting on vehicles so the owners have a pretty good idea of what people in the scene think. I know when I ride around in my caddy and some kid says "that's sweet" I appreciate the compliment but doesnt mean half as much as when someone who's in the scene says it. I thought the idea behind the voting was to compliment peoples rides and show appreciation for the time and effort they've put into their vehicles, to say nothing of the dollar amount invested in them (which is usually substantial). At any rate, my point is that if you are going to vote on a vehicle, you should be fair about it. Meaning, be honest. No way does a body-dropped vehicle with the best equipment available deserve a low rating. (no, my vehicle is not body-dropped LOL, I got lucky and the frame tucks evenly with the body). That is just an example, but there are many instances I have seen on SSM where vehicles with substantial work that are consistant show winners receive sub-par ratings, that to me seems unjust. So, if you vote on a vehicle, be sincere, we are all in the scene to promote it, not degrade one another's passion. I think the point Garrick and SSM were trying to establish was to give a viewable and accesible forum to rate each others rides, and for that forum be accurate and honest. I've been all over the country to shows and have been a mini-trucker for more years than I care to mention, I see vehicles that are simply amazing and I have been disappointed with their ratings on SSM. If your a hater, please stop rating. If you're rating.....be honest with them and know that the owner's of those vehicles are proud of their investment (time, money, labor, blood and in some instances tears)if they weren't they probobly wouldn't have their vehicles on SSM. Bottom line....be nice
