stop by the cops

I was cruising on a college campus ont he way to pick up my girl and I dumped the drivers side while turning. Unexpectedly a cop pulls up at the same, time thinking nothing I drove on. The n he pulled behind be and flashed his lights,so I pulled over. He walked up and said it was against the law in Texas to alter your suspension. These were his exact words. Never of hearing about any law I didn't try to argue but told him I wasn't aware but would find out. He then released me because I was in uniform, which might I say has gotten me out of many troubles...thank you army. Last but not least where can I find these laws. Any help would be appreciated....
