Body drops getting played out???

The last few issues of MT and Street Trucks, I cant help but notice an awful lot of trucks with features that aren't body dropped, why is this are they getting played out because everybody was doing it and that is the new thing to not body drop your ride. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed and what they thought.
