Alright folks heres the situation. My boy (bilt2drag on ssm) is putting a fuel cell in his ranger. He had drug through his gas tank and had to put a cell in, we started looking at it today, and cant find a suitable location to mount it. It wont fit between the frame rails due to the cantilever setup he has, and he has no room at the rear of the bed to mount it because it hits the 4 link bars. (Which yes in the pic are bent, but have since been replaced) Im not familair with the process of mounting a cell, so i thought i would ask a few questions.
1. Is it possible to make a mount, and elevate the cell to clear all the tubing in the rear? If so would this be stupid?
2. What are your thoughts about mounting the cell at the front of the bed, behind the cab? (where his air tank and compressor are now) This was my idea, which would entail mounting the tank and compressor on top of the tube work. But would it be a saftey issue?
3. Any other opinions on where would be a good location or a trick way to mount it?
Here is a crappy pic of what we have to work with right now:
