Grant tailgate skin 84-88 ??

Anyone know if grants skin for the 84-88 american bed is an actual skin or is it an overlay? Meaning it lays over the original and weld it on without rolling the edges or taking off the original skin?? The lower portion of my outer skin is completly shot and all the ones I find in the yards here are the same way. Wondering if I can peel my original off an and replace it with theirs. I really don't want to buy a chinese shell and have to do all the tweaking to get the damn things to fit.

Those need the original skin peeled off first.

Cool, thats what I needed to know. When I did my roll pan that was an overlay and I wasn't for sure how the tailgate skin was.
