OK, I've seen some sweet rides that are flat around the scene.
My question is...How do you care for this style paint?
I would not think you could wax it at all, so is there anything you do to protect it?
When rains on it and get water spots. how to you clean that?
How hard is it to keep even looking? does it stain if something gets on it and how do you clean it off if it does?
it is hard to maintain it and it does stain easy and fade if you use cheap stuff
scratches easy too
i shamy mine after the car wash mine is still smooth as paint as it should be
i seen people use a green pad that you would use in your sink on them
yep! scotchbrite is your friend!
If you are purposely looking for flat or dull "rat rod"style paint on your truck, don't spray straight flat. I mix 3 parts flat with 1 part gloss and shoot it. It comes out "satin". It doesn't burn up like flat paint, and it's very washable and doesn't spot. It's called "suede" in the street rodding community. The gloss gives it a smoother surface without being shiny.
