rs-72 fit into a djm

my rs-72 bags dont really fit into my djm arms. i welded a plate on the bottom for the bag to bolt to. the bag,when pulled out far enough to clear the frame, hits both sides of the arm.

Can i just cut some of the tube around the bag to make it clear? even if i renforce it, would it be strong enough.

I know some of you guys are running rs-72s, what did you have to do to make them fit?????
