VA tint laws

Im getting my windows tinted in the morning, and I was wondering if anyone in northern VA/DC area has had any trouble with the law or trying to get a vehicle inspected? I would really like to the darker tint, but Im thinkin the semi-dark stuff is the way to go. Any advice or experience with this problem? I dont wanna drop the money just to have to peel if off.
