wayyy off topic....anybody a washing machine repair dude?

my washing machine has got a problem. it will stop in mid cycle, all i have to do is open the lid and shut it again. so i assume its a switch or something going bad? of course id rather drop 40 or 50$ on a part instead of several hundred for a new one so if anybody knows how to fix this friggin thing id greatly appreciate the help.
