anyone ever put leds behind tinted factory glass??

i don't want any visible taillights on truck and was thinking of putting led's behind the rear glass, only thing is it's tinted and wasn't sure if enough light will be emitted threw it. anyone ever run led's behind tinted glass b4?? specificly factory tint?? don't matter what type of vehicle. truck will not be a daily so i'm not really worried about "legal".
