forming unmolded carpet

Here's the deal. My mom can get me all the unmolded automotive carpet I need from her work. I was wondering how you would form it to match the floor of my truck. I am 99% finished with my body drop and it's time to start thinking about carpet. I was thinking maybe a heat gun on low. As long as it gets hot but not too hot to melt the fibers.
