How lo can my 4x4 go?

I have a 97 chevy ext. cab 4x4. I owe to much to get rid of it so I think I am goin to lower it. Belltech has a kit that lowers it 3/4.Can I go any lower with another get an with out any serious mods, like taking the 4x out. Any help would br great!
