Tilt Bed ???

I was just wondering if it could be possible to use some of the Camaro rear hatch gas shocks to hold up my bed It is going to be alot lighter when I do it Im going to have the floor cut out with a welded shut tonnue cover...THINK IT CAN BE DONE or should I try to hook a bag up to it?
