digital camera question

whats the best digital camera to buy i need one to shoot show coverage with i know ass about digital, i was totaly against digital but this weekend i was shooting a wedding and my cannon 35mm quit auto focusing so im like fuck it ill go with digital, i need to know the best and what kind of card to get with it i need to be able to print 4x6's and they need to be just as good quality as my 35mm was. i know a guy who has a minolta A1 for $600 is that a good deal thanks guys let me know something
