Im new on here and had bagged my yota bout a year ago. NEVER done it before and just did it with the help of everyones posts. SO heres my QUESTION

I wanna lay out front i got back layed out, but front bag bracket broke do to my novice welding and arc welder..B4 i could cruise with front layed and barely cleared inner fender walls..now that one broke i want to lay it out!!

Ive read alot of posts so i got a good idea of the how to..
Any tips before tackling this weekend?

Should i section the mounts for the LCA's?
By that i mean like cutting an inch out and rewelding upwards towards frame?
DO I do the ball joint trick, by cutting section and rewelding?

IM GONNA run 18s x 7.5

My guess is to mount bag up high as possible but clear the upper a arm even notch it out if needed, cut out my existing lower mount which is nowhere near what your guys looks like..AND replace into the LCA.. {IT looks like a ski} to compensate for angle on lower a arm? AND possibly section UPCA behind ball joint?

Tell me what you think?
Later ill do X member due to time and money?
ABOUT THAT MOUNT .. I guess it was meant to level out lower a arm to upper a arm bracket?? I know it will give me at least another inch and a half if i remove it?? RIGHT??
Ill post PICS soon next two days or so let me know what up THANKS

just z it instead of screwing with the control arms. also, if your bag bracket fell off, i'd do some practicing before i cut my frame in half.

Z it. You will hate yourself less in the end.

Though when i Z it wouldnt that place entire front half up higher and therefore sit the motor up in the hood?
IF i Z it do i still need to do any of that other cutting or anything?
WHY does everyone Z their frames now?
BY the way i had hit a huge manhole in the street and i was locked up in the front along with not so perfect night welding a year and a half ago!!!LOL
SINCE THEN i redid backend and had shop owners wondering who did the work so i think i got it this time, but it seems like the cutting of arms and sections sound easier without placing motor higher RIGHT??? DONT kNOW thats y i left it to U guys THANKS>>

You Z your frame, because the crossmember is too low. And it doesn't mess up your geometry. If you raise yoru upper and lower control arm mounts, you also have to move up your steering box, idler arm, and steering stabilizer. Its a lot of work. I did it to my truck, and really wish I just Z'd it. It would have been less work in the end.

As far as the motor being higher, I make bolt on motor mounts that will drop it back down the same amount you Z'd it.

OK sorry to bother..
Well its my daily second driver and i got to get it going by january 2nd or some shit. BUUT what i had meant was by lower bag mount on bottom to inside the lower a arm and splitting upper to compensate for binding in ball joint that wouldnt give me a good amount of drop..Im sorry im asking all this shit but im literally about to go tear into it right now and dont wanna do it again>> So if you were in my shoes you would Z it HUH?
and one more thing i do have some drop spindles my homie hooked me up with i shouldnt try running those with the old school way i was talkin about??

how ever much you z it,move your frame horns down the same amount, say you z it 1.25 then drop your frame horns 1.25,you do this so that your radiator support and fenders will bolt back up.i'm not saying do it 1.25 I just threw that # up as example it will vary a bit between trucks, kinda depends on how much dragging the front crossmember you've done, lol

I went ahead and started tearing into it today im gonna just move some shit around and install my drop spindles. It seems better for me seeing as how the bed hasnt been BDd yet so i torn straight into it..

Does anyone know what to replace the lower ball joints with?? just replace cause mine are bad and looks like there pressed in i wouldnt even care but since im there and there bad im going to replace them???

I called parts place they say there just the ball joints no brackets with them??

ANY INPUT THANKS AGAIN

Get a stock balljoint. They bolt in. Unless you don't have a Toyota.
