First off my smoking issue has stopped with proper oil put in it. The clutch works great too.
Now my problem is gas mileage and severe hesitation on acceleration and heavy footing. It also has a skipping issue going down the freeway every once in awhile. But im talking like 15 mpg bad gas mileage and the truck jerks real good like its either flooding or lack of fuel when you get on it.
It has the original carb still on it. The poor fuel economy makes me think the Oxygen sensor but would that cause the hesitation on accelration too? Maybe the accelerator pump too?

Where you able to figure this out? I have a similar problem but I was thinking it may have something to do with the catalytic converter. I was going to cut it off anyway but if that is not it I would be interested in what you did to get things running smooth again. ~ Thanks
