Hey,
I have an '87 Dodge with a stock audio system plus a CB radio. However, my normal radio only gets AM reception. If I switch it to FM it's just complete silence on any station, but very rarely, if I have it on FM, it will play for a minute or two and then just go away again, but the AM radio always works. What do you think could be causing this problem?
Here is a link to the picture, the website wouldn't let me put it right on the thread. It's just the stock radio.
It is the stock radio; it's the same as the one in the Owner's Manual and in the Chilton Guide Book.
I know this is an old thread but I have an answer for you- its a failed transistor in the FM circuit, I've seen this many times and fixed it myself a few. If you wan tto fix it, there are lot's of guys on the web who restore old car radios.
