I have a q my ecu burned out yesterday and I have had no luck finding a ecu will the ecu out of a 1987 Max work in my 1990 max

no, 87-89 is carb. And I believe they switched a few sensors or something on the 91-up so I believe you need one from a 90.

Could be the same ECU as the 87 - 89 Montero 4-cyl, too. The 90 will not work.

i need the 90 is thar noway around the problem or do you know wer i can get one that won't tear a hole in my pocket

Sorry, misread the intent of your post...the title is misleading.

The 90 ECU is different for the 2.4L and 3.0L. You'll have to locate the correct piece by part number; however, the pars should be the same for 90-92(ish), when Mitsu changed some things around on their platforms.

So a 1991 and 1992 will work as long as its 2.4L
